Pre-Meet Run at 7:36 pace

Down to the bay and back. Feelin a bit sore but hopefully will be good to cruise to some decent times tomorrow. Hit some 150s on the way back. Strangely I feel more sore when running with others than on my own. 7:45 feels harder than 7:15 most of the time :)

Workout: 4 x 1k @ Tempo and 2 x 200

Felt very smooth, unsure about the exact splits of the k's but mostly around 5:25-5:40 pace, honestly felt better than I did in XC. 200s were somewhere in the neighborhood of 27 to 29. Just trusting the process right now and not trying to get to concerned about mileage or doing too much too soon. Hard to fight the urge to do less and feel well rested but I know I want to be ready to run faster than ever in June, not April. I find it difficult to balance the desire to feel fresh and to work hard. Only had one killer workout this year but the volume is certainly up. The whole squad looks fit too. Really hoping Eli can cap off a strong senior season and that Miles can hit the times he's been chasing since indoor.

At 7:33 pace

A bit of meandering jog. Junior High Meet was on and I needed to get some miles in prior. Miles forgot his shoes and most of the guys were taking an off day so I hit this solo. Felt pretty sore for the first bit, started off just wanting to hit a Caitlin but dropped my jacket off halfway down Maqouit so I had to swing back around and pick it up. Just a grind of a run but felt better towards the end. I honestly really enjoy runs with gloomy weather. It's nice, cool, peaceful, and quiet minus the rain. I always sweat too much on sunny days and I find I can really lose myself in my thoughts or music when I'm out on cloudy days. Wish my legs felt a bit more fresh but it was a tranquil run nonetheless.

Workout

4 x (4, 2, 2)
68, 64, 65, 64, 33-29ish for the 2s (first one moderate second one fast)

Felt amazing, 200 jog break after the 4 and the first 2 then 400 job break after the last 2. One of those workouts where you wind up and feel amazing. The 400's felt smooth as hell and the 200's felt decent as well. 64-65 feels fast yet I didn't get lactic for any of the reps today, I guess I'm starting to internalize that pace so maybe sub 4:20 this year isn't off the table? All in all a big confidence booster, felt like I could tack on quite a few more sets at the same pace. Good to see Miles and Eli cruising through this one as well. The rain and the wind were cumbersome but not horrible, hopefully its our last spell of gloomy weather for a bit. Feeling good about my fitness right now, alot from indoor has carried over and the addition of long runs is definitely helping my strength.
